Holdsworth House is a grand 17th century jacobean manor house standing 3 miles north of Halifax in a typical West Yorkshire landscape of moors and mills. It provides a haven of peace and quality in an age when it is too often forgotten that the customer is also a guest.
Holdsworth House has a fascinating past with records dating from the 13th Century. There are tales of roaming ghosts, links to the Knights of St John of Jerusalem and many famous guests including The Beatles.
The imaginative use of colour, fabrics gives each bedroom a character of it's own. Several rooms have four poster or half tester beds, and the four split-level suites have a sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor and a pretty galleried bedroom above. Two single bedrooms are also specially planned for wheel chair use.
For many years Holdsworth House has enjoyed an enviable reputation for it's beautiful restaurant and delicious food. The kitchen brigade has won numerous awards and continues to the many returning guests.
Holdsworth House has been awarded two Rosettes by the Automobile Association for the quality of the food in the Best Restaurants in Britain Guide for the past seven years.
For the tourist Holdsworth House is the perfect base from which to explore the Pennines and Dales, with Bronte country on the doorstep.
