Traditionally, Coventry is the UK's centre for engineering excellence, and a host of automotive companies have bases here, such as Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, BMW Group (Rover) and Peugeot Talbot. The motor heritage of Coventry is displayed in the Museum of British Road Transport, where you can see classic cars, prototypes, and record breakers.
The City also has a new slogan. ‘Coventry Inspires’ was chosen by the people of Coventry to reflect the City’s unique qualities in these times of change. It is a play on the famous three spires, and lends itself so well to the idea that Coventry has inspired so much in its distinguished history.
Take the time to venture a little further afield, and you will discover Kenilworth and Warwick Castles, Royal Leamington Spa, and William Shakespeare's home town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Carrying on the theatrical tradition, the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry mixes popular and pioneering work, and there are also good Cinemas, restaurants, bars and nightclubs to enjoy.
