Norwood Hall Hotel, Aberdeen
Norwood Hall
Norwood Hall has taken on a new lease of life and has now been completely upgraded to a quality hotel – in fact the upgrading had not been complete in time for my 1998 edition. A Victorian mansion built in 1887 the hotel has great character and is situated within its own grounds just on the outside of Aberdeen at Pitfodels on the North Deeside Road. Many of the original features of the hotel have been retained with a magnificent oakwood stairway that leads to 21 refurbished bedrooms all with en suite facilities. The kitchen produces dishes which are skilfully prepared making good use of local produce – the North East is famous for its Angus beef and fresh fish from the sea. The setting is ideal for weddings and corporate business – the 7 acres of garden offer the perfect surroundings. General Manager Morag Macindoe will make you feel very welcome for whatever reason you come to Norwood Hall – it is only 3 miles from the city centre but offers the privacy of a country house hotel.
This 18th century listed mansion house with a magnificent interior is set in 7 acres of wooded grounds yet only 3 miles from Aberdeen city centre. The Norwood Hall Hotel has an oak panelled lounge bar, an AA rosette awarded restaurant and library with patio doors leading to the gardens. All bedrooms are well equipped with satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press, ironing board and hair dryer.
Built in 1887 on the site of the 15th Century Pitfodels Castle, this Victorian Mansion House is set in 7 acres of wooded grounds with extensive car parking. It is hard to believe you are only three miles from the centre of Aberdeen!
Lunches and suppers are available daily in the Georgian Bar, and breakfast and A' La Carte Dinner are served in the Tapestry Dining Room. Our extensive menus which include light snacks and vegetarian dishes are available daily. Dine al fresco in the summer months and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the secluded gardens.
The accommodation at Norwood is very much in keeping with the rest of this Victorian mansion. Whilst the bedrooms have undergone a recent refurbishment, every care was taken to retain the character of the accommodation. Despite the Victorian feel to the rooms, all modern comforts are provided and the latest in telecommunication and audio visual equipment is supplied. Norwood Hall Hotel has twenty one bedrooms with en suite facilities and equipped with hospitality tray, direct dial telephone, iron and ironing board, trouser press, hair dryer and toiletries.
Norwood Hall is one of Aberdeen's most popular Wedding and social event venues. Its intimacy is appreciated by families and local business for their special occasions. Four suites are available for Training Courses, Seminars and Board Meetings ranging from the intimate oak panelled Library to the 150 capacity Pitfodels Suite.
Norwood Hall is conveniently situated one and a half miles from the main Ring Road through Aberdeen making it easily accessible to all the industrial centres and the airport.
