Mercure Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen
Mercure Ardoe House
The beautiful turreted mansion of Ardoe House sits majestically in its own gardens and grounds overlooking Royal Deeside, only a few minutes away from Aberdeen City.
Ardoe House Hotel is an excellent example of a Scottish Baronial Country House, set amidst 17 acres of grounds and gardens commanding spectacular views over the River Dee and Royal Deeside, whilst being only a few minutes drive from Aberdeen City Centre. Enclosed by trees and rich foliage, the winding shrub-lined drive conceals even a fleeting glimpse of the imposing building until you are suddenly upon it. If the style of Ardoe House reminds you of another majestic building further up Royal Deeside, do not be at all surprised. It is no mere coincidence. Built in 1878, Ardoe is moulded in that Scottish Baronial style, favoured by Queen Victoria for Balmoral Castle, some forty miles upstream. Today the elegant mansion, with its lofty turrets and inscriptions of heraldry, offers its guests every modern comfort, yet retains the style and charm of a country mansion.
The impressive interior of Ardoe House portrays its Victorian splendour with ornate wood panelled magnificent moulded ceilings and cornices, intricate carved fireplaces and stained glass windows. Seventy one deluxe bedrooms furnished to a luxurious standard meet all your expectations and more. Whilst in the area, why not visit one of the many nearby attractions such as Crathes Castle or the Glenfiddich Distillery or even let us arrange a round of golf for you at Cruden Bay.
If you stay at Ardoe House regularly, treat yourself by checking into a different room each time. In this respect, Ardoe is somewhat old-fashioned... every room is exclusive and has its own unique atmosphere. However, the rooms have modern day comforts... all with en-suite facilities, direct dial telephones, remote control colour TV, radio alarm, trouser press, hair dryer and hospitality tray. Following extensive renovations and refurbishment of Ardoe House, the team are justifiably proud of all the additions, which were so sympathetically created to compliment the magnificent house. None more so than the Garden Room.
Ideal for small parties or private dining, this versatile room accommodates up to 40 guests and features an abundance of subtle designs. Whatever your taste in cuisine, the array of delights available in the wood panelled restaurant will more than match your expectations. A word of advice:- when it's in season, don't leave without trying the fresh salmon! Where at all possible, the Head Chef and his talented team will use the wide and varied selection of fresh local ingredients available to produce a variety of menus that will make your mouth water. Also on offer is a wide choice of vegetarian dishes, and a wine list that you'll find hard to better.
